It is my sad duty to inform you that Supreme Chief Addie Sadberry resigned her position on August 6, 2011 due to declining health. All of us extend to Addie our Best Wishes and sincere hope that she continues to improve and that she be filled with love, happiness and joy.
I have been declared Supreme Chief ad interim. I have appointed Supreme Junior Sandra Symons to the office of Supreme Senior and have installed her as that officer. Sandra has graciously declared that she will continue to be chairman of Ways and Means for Supreme Temple for the rest of this term.
In honor of Addie, I will continue with her programs and her chairmen shall remain the same. You will be receiving a pin. This pin is in the shape of a trophy and is to remind you to be a membership champion. Wear it everywhere and every day. When friends ask about it, you can explain our order and invite them to join. For each new member that you bring in, you will receive an award certificate from me. For each three new members you bring in, you will receive a special coin. If you bring in ten new members, you will receive a trophy presented at Supreme Temple Sessions in 2012.
I ask for the support of all of you. We must continue to open our arms to welcome everyone to join our Beloved Order. It is a well-established fact that if you ask 10 people to join our Order, at least one will join. I am asking everyone to ask 20 friends and / or relatives. This would insure an increase in membership. Do it now. We can not afford to wait.
I am taking the Sisters along with the Knights in support of the American Cancer Society. The members in Canada will, of course, support the Canadian Cancer Society. Plan to participate in Relay for Life.
We are going to support our militaries and our local food banks. Please continue to do volunteerism in your areas. By supporting all of these projects in your jurisdictions, together, we can keep our name before the public. This can convince them we are doing something they want to be a part of.
I hope to see many of you on my visits. Please extend every courtesy to my Officers who are here to serve you and our wonderful Order.
